Feel my Bicep

Although this one has been about for a while, I purposely ignored it. A somewhat strange combination the Long Blondes, a generic indie-pop band, and Henrik (Pantha) who produces music as an art form. I’m guessing he seen this tune as a challenge, something to change peoples’ perception of disposable indie bands.

Maybe you actually can polish a turd!

The remix sees Pantha stamp his ambient deep house sound on things. The twisted moog bass line holds the tune and becomes its most defining factor. I’m rather impressed, probably should have trusted Pantha’s judgment!!

I think this resident advisor mix is up there in the Top 5 there are, it certainly is my favourite mix….from resident advisor;

“This mix was done on the road (the only real time I get to do things like this, folks) in Ableton Live on my laptop, during several stopovers on a long trip from Norway to Ibiza. I wanted to do something that was almost entirely mixed in key. I’d worked out most of these mixes from playing out but there were a couple where the pitch had to be tweaked in the computer so they didn’t clash.”

A nice tune that was played on the most recent beats in space podcast, nice old school disco vibe and an obvious italo influence with the vocals. Apparently it was rejected by tough allinace and pushed out as a bootleg!
