alden tyrell- odessa theme

hm-2

Perfect sunday morning Italo-Cosmic disco, this beauty was released on Clone back in 2006 and I heard it out for the fist time last night. It makes me want to grow a moustache and put on a white suit with 3 sets of shoulder-pads.

Inner City – Big Fun (Agoria Remix)

blog

Inner City’s Paris Grey and Kevin Saunderson made some duo. This is a really moody remix with serious integrity, every bit of it is produced to perfection and works beautifully with Grey’s soulful vocals. Another bomb, really dig the ballsy breakdown, super silence.

Moodymann – Shades of Jae

(sampling bob james) The jazzy detroit masta… Needs no more. This will always go off.

Bob James – Spunky

212275saved-by-the-bell

Beautifully combining the funk with some sleazy snippets of 80s disco in the middle, this tune is a gem, released in 1982. With some some rather jazzy key action, you may recognize parts from another rather all time epic track (which will soon appear above).

D. Gookin

Wish we could say more about D. Gookin except that he sounds nothing like this picture suggests. This is quite an old tune from the American keyboardist, it sounds perfect grouped amongst any odd Sorcerer or Hatchback tunes  you may have laying around. Set up your deck-chair and enjoy.

Pylon – Danger

Pylon are a great forgotten band. Their stuff is perfectly dark and underground.

Tony Lionni – Found a Place

1793683006_f5a0642a93_o

Absolutely have been loving this track over the past couple of weeks, it is of the Berghain 03 EP which also features a Radioslave tune (Neverending). Released earlier this year on Ostgut Tonträger along alongside a mix CD from Len Faki, featuring a couple of unreleased tracks. For me this EP captures the rollercoaster, dark but yet euphoric atmosphere of Berghain/ Panorama Bar perfectly- even more so than the first 2 releases.

you can pick his up in the usual places, but here is a preview.

Scotti Deep – Brooklyn Beats

Word on the street Ricardo dropped this in Fabric the other night, such a banging tune which used to get played across the board. Great to see the jack make a comeback.

Laurent Garnier – Crispy Bacon

crispy_bacon_1

This classic has kept me going all day, one of the first vinyls I bought, but didn’t even play it until I heard Garnier play it Live a few weeks after. There is something about it which makes you want to do the techno viking- on fast forward. All the talk of The Man with the red face but this tune has a special place in my heart, up there with my favorite techno tunes.

Hercules & Love Affair- Blind (Serge Santiago Unreleased Chiago edit)

A more jacking version to the one that was eventually released on DFA, both awesome remixes I could see why it was hard to choose between them. This one was on his myspace for ages so you may still recognise it.

le syndicat electronique- The men who killed the beat

Awesome tune I picked out of the CBS top 100 a couple of years ago. Arpeggiated goodness, squelchy synths, 808s and throw in a vocoder and you get something a little like this!

Sorry we have been away for a while trying to work out a new layout and direction for the blog- we are now on feelmybicep.com and on a new theme until we transfer everything across, and design our own more “blog” based layout .

So to kick things off here is part 3 of the 45-33 vinyl, that i uploaded part 2 from a couple of weeks back! things are going to get a lot more underground over the next few weeks

Lets keep this techno shit rolling. I was loving this record when I got it, such respectable electric dirtiness. Matthew Dear is really rather great, maybe not everyone’s favourite but his production is mondo tight. Even Asa Breed supplies whats needed, dance music for all sorts of folk.
