GQ – Lies (Theo Parrish re-edit)

Soulful, rough and ready edit from Theo Parrish’s ugly edits series from back in 2004. I think this was number 8. Hugely popular, very limited press, enjoy.

Sounds an awful lot like GQ’s “Lies” if you ask me. ;-)

yea it says that in the accompanying vinyl info “A-side is a vocal disco track which might be a GQ LP cut` albeit now chopped and edited to distraction` the flip is a great Sound Signature extension of Funkadelic’s ‘Undisco Kidd’` originally from the 1976 album ‘Tales Of Kidd Funkadelic’”

sorry sorry, even we make mistakes

The first time I heard this was on an episode of Beats in Space when James Murphy was guesting. I thought one of his CDJs was skipping. This is such a weird edit, fittingly called ‘ugly.’ Those collage pictures are tight. Methinks that shepherdess is gonna “Bend-Over-Boyfriend” that jester.

theo is just in his own galaxy when it comes to edits… every ugly edit record i’ve ever heard played out in a club has caused me to stop and rush to the booth to find out what it was. stellar post!
