You may not know the name ‘Tom Furse‘, but you are bound to be familiar with his productions. He is more commonly known as keyboard wizard from The Horrors, responsible for the awesome remix of ‘Heartbreak – Akin to dancing‘, released on Dissident records a couple of months back. This again is simply outstanding, the kinda shit a lovechild between Wolfgang Flür and Ian Curtis would be thinking up. Post punk industrial disco, CBS will be loving this, we are!

Following up from our last post on Tyler Fedchuck’s remix of Zanadu remix, here’s a sympathetic edit done under the now defunct Far Away guise, which was also super popular night that played the leftest of beats. Nothing needs said for the amazing original and this is really a pure DJ edit, stretching things out a little, adding a bit of beef here and there and not fucking with anything that doesnt need fucking with.

We’ve also included a rather tasty mix by Tyler from his heroic RadioZero show, were Bicep will be helping out on for the next few weeks, every Friday. Check it.

Together with Giorgio Moroder Jean-Marc Cerrone is seen as Europe’s most important contribution of the Disco-Sound. ‘Supernature’ was one of his biggest hits and has been re-hashed and edited by a tonne of artists since it’s first release in 77′. This track is a weird one, maybe it has been wrongly tagged in my library- I dono! Its defo not Kevin Saunderson remix that was just released on the History Elevate CD but it could possibly be an edit that was released in 96′. Cant find any previews online of this, so I cant tell. Some awesome key action and extra breakdowns but this could possibly be an extended mix. If anyone can shed light on this I would be grateful- if not sit back and enjoy.

Bit of a classic here, to put it mildly, from the man Eddy Grant. Released in ’77 this is a timeless electronic weapon. It blends beautifully between the old house sound and all out electro disco action. Complete with acidic tripped out synth that melts into an amazing slow, burning atmosphere. Not to mention the chanting vocal, the type of chant you would expect from a jolly troup of W.I members around christmas.

We’ve got more electronic, post disco greatness from 1982 in the form of Connie Case. This oldschool house and electro disco/funk sound will never die, and it will continuing influencing the greatest music for a long long time. Oldschool disco house at it greatness, and the vocal is enough to knock you of your feet. More to come.

Tunes like this made me want to dj, really simple but effective. I could think of nothing better than to absolutly thump this out to a massive crowd through a function one. Repetitive grooving but unlike the masses of dire ‘minimal techno’ this is full of live…lifting up and down with the 909 hats and slamming straight down with an 808 kick, worming its way on a 303 groove- this is a roland masterpiece!
DBX is one of the first wave of ‘Detroit techno’ artists famous for early minimal sound combining elements of detroit with a stripped down and jacky sound more popular in Chicago at that time. Incredible crossover appeal on party tracks and stripped down minimal bleep techno, with crisp grainy claps that have made his sound and use of the RZ-1 drumbox unmistakable. Had huge underground hit with “Losing Control” on UK’s Peacefrog records in the mid-90’s, later reissued with remixes from Robert Hood, Carl Craig and Richie Hawtin, the 3 biggest names in Detroit techno during that time. Continues to produce and DJ worldwide, his work is available now on dozens of labels and compilations.

Deep dark haunting and haunting tune just released on RVNG, part of Pink Skull’s new album on the label. Really great dark influence on this this is like Boards of Canada meets Redshape meets italo disco! weird tune but great none the less.This is just a bonus track on the album, if you are a fan of LCD Soundsystem or Noze you will defo dig the tracks! We love what RVNG as done on this release to make each one individual and unique;
“For the living / breathing packaging of Endless Bummer, Pink Skull and Rvng prepared a list of 1000 different “bummers” informed by our symptomatic culture (ranging from “ADULT DIAPERS” to “ZOMBIE INVASION”) and letter pressed 900 of these across a variation of three flo-colored jackets printed with vegetable-based inks at Stumptown Printers.
The 60 hours spent slaving over the letter press at Silver Spring, MD non-profit arts center Pyramid Atlantic took on an endless if not hallucinogenic feel but never veered into bummer territory. The fruit of our blood, sweat, and beers”

Awesome rework here of the 85′ hit Shiela produced with our main man Prince, this tune never sounded so funky. Great sounding edit really capturing all which was good with the original, smooth synths, jittery guitars combined with some extra groove!

As promised back with some moe classic Hacienda vibes, this an unbelievable Jon Da Silva remix of the New Fads classic. Trippy acid house vibes with the Manchester new wave roots, this EP was the sound all in one record.
