Beautiful, deep and chugging edit of Kate Bush’s classic, running up the hill……No doubt some people will feel tackling Kate Bush is an edit too far, but to all the purists….this is really just a great way to fit her music into more conventional sets and to new audiences. To his credit Beedle has done a sterling job on the mix, teasing out the drums and some well placed effects add to the drama, and you can see this becoming an anthem over the christmas period. Dead limited, one sided 12″….

Yeah, this is an incredibly nice track but sounds almost exactly the same as the 12″ mix that appears on the 1997 limited edition remaster of Hounds of Love (see here: http://www.discogs.com/Kate-Bush-Hounds-Of-Love/release/1141075). Based on the time, I’m guessing it’s probably the same as the “Extended Mix” from the 1985 12″ maxi (with production credited solely to Kate Bush). I have lots of respect for Ashley Beedle, but this mix doesn’t really bear his typical style, and I’m guess he got a little lazy and just made some minor tweaks to the 1985 Extended Mix produced by Kate Bush and put his name on it. Sorry.
would like to hear that extended mix if you have a link. I think it was intended more of a dj friendly edit rather than taking credit for it. Very limited release, not putting it out under a different guise, an all that. http://www.discogs.com/release/1160541
there also this recent edit “a deal with god” on

I’m emailing you a link for the 12″ just in case you haven’t gotten your hands on it yet.
(Thanks for this mix, btw. <3 )

you wouldn’t happen to have the entire edit still would you? I would love to play it this weekend.
