BAPPI LAHIRI | JIMMY JIMMY AJA (TODD TERJE EDIT)

Being stationed currently out in the middle-east, one can’t help but let the melting pot of local music rub off on them. I was recently researching authentic eastern music, looking for possible editing material, when I remembered this little number. Highly camp, like almost everything to have come from Bollywood, this is a solid feel-good slab of paneer! Perfect for the more leftfield of sets!

I had no idea how little own creative imput there is in M.I.A.’s version of this track.

  3. Rajesh says:

the song is from a movie called `disco dancer’, which befitting its name has a number of other `disco’ tracks. quite enjoyable. bappi lahiri also did a bunch other `disco in an indian style’ tracks, sometimes borrowing rather shamelessly but always very enjoyably from well-known western pop track
