PERSEUS | RUNNING BACK TO YOU

I’m not ashamed to say, I’ve plenty of time for RNB. All those sleazy silked out jams conjuring up images of decadent parties, booty and Cristal! Some of my favourites you can find here, here and here. Anyway, over the past year we’ve seen them creeping back into tracks and what better an example that Perseus’s ‘Running back to you’ (out on French Express) taking the vocal from Ashanti’s soulful bomb ‘Foolish’. He’s added some outstanding keys (although they do slightly remind me of Julio Bashmore’s remix of Classix…not that that’s a bad thing). On repeat.
