Crash Course In Science were a post punk band formed in 1979 in Philadelphia. They avoided the sounds of conventional instrumentation by using toy instruments and kitchen appliances to augment the distorted guitar, drums and synthesised beats. This old-school minimalistic sound is shaping the dancefloor again beyond the ‘minimal’ rush over the last 5 years which went full circle, with the likes of Levon Vincent and Tevo Howard stripping things back to the industrial roots. Many bands are opting back to the minimal aproach, stripping back tracks and trying to make their music simle but sounding different. These guys along with some others were the pioneers and started things off.
