I know this has been everywhere but just because it is so phenomenal we need to get in on this action. Danilo is prob one of the best producers out there, with such a versatile style I don’t see him being stopped any time soon…roll on the M.C.D.E. album.

MOTOR CITY DRUM ENSEMBLE | L.O.V.E.

“L.O.V.E.” is smoother than what you might find on his Raw Cuts series, but it has the same kind of expert sample mining that makes you feel like you’ve just discovered an old vinyl in the back room of the record shop. It’s no exercise in chin stroking, though: Every sample is carefully tuned to groove. The bassline feels nostalgic, moonlit and beautiful. The passionate female cry (“Without a love”… maybe?) is primed to soften the most workday-hardened heart. “Basement Love” on the flip is less propulsive, and more skewed, dwelling more in a seedy world of shadows and velvet drapes.RA review
