I have to admit, i’ve had this edit on my computer for years and i’ve overlooked it for so long. I’m just home from work and accidently stuck it on, to realise it’s actually pretty awesome.
If you can get over the fact it was originally a tune your embarrassing, divorced dad put on when he first drove his new Mazda sports car, with matching crap haircut……… you’ll be pleased to find Terje has yet again pulled off exactly what needs to be done with a good edit. Taking an element (in this case the tribal drum break) and bringing it to life through shrewd layering and repetition.

For those who arn’t familiar with Adam and the ants, they were a British rock band band during the late 1970s and early 1980s. They were one of the bands at the time that marked the transition from the 70s punk rock era to the New Wave/post-punkera.

So much hype already over this summer big DFA hit, but not much sound resonating over this remix. Im a big fan of the original and actually prefer it to the Todd Terje remix ‘Shocker’. Equally I love Serge’s interpretation as always he combines classic house sounds and modern disco, keeping a really upbeat piano groove going old school style. This tune however is broken down and takes a couple of different directions, awesome perc and spacey synths take full use of the 10 minutes!

Some of you might already know that Todd Terje’s ‘Wade Nichols’ alias was inspired by the late 1970′s pornstar turned singer turned pornstar Dennis Parker, aka Wade Nichols.
Sadly Denni ole’ boy went and got himself loaded up with Aids (probably getting blown off by one of the several coke head hookers he often rubbed shoulders with)
Dennis then decided to get blown one final time, (he opted for a shotgun)………. so his output was sadly cut short……..but….he still left his mark. Here’s his silky disco gem ‘Like an Eagle’…..
