Ian Pooley – Higgledy Piggledy

Some old school jack courtesy of Ian Pooley, cuttin and sampling done the old way. Fans of Daft Punk will be into this disco heavy, house groove. Even tho this was out in 97′ it still gets turned by the likes of DJ Sneak to get a party started.

Thomas Bangalter – Extra Dry

Extra dry cured bacon beats from one of the men behind Daft Punk. Nasty old school French techno that woulda been right up Carl cox’s street back na’ day!
This tune actually also featured in the film ‘Irreversible’ mentioned earlier this week.

Thomas Bangalter – Paris by Night

Daft Punk’s Bangalter scored the dark and disturbing film ‘Irreversible’ with great effect. This is one of the stand out segments from the the soundtrack. ‘Paris by Night’, slow nu-disco beats inspired by the revenge of a brutal rape, this is as sinister as they come.

Hackney boy producer and edit extraordinaire, we are yet to find a bad tune from this guy. Originally one half of Radioslave he now runs Arcobaleno records and holds down a residency at We Love Sundays at Space. This mix from May 30th 2006 fueled my love for the techno italo combo. Resident adivisor has a cool piece about the man in question.

KANO – Ikeya Seki / Kavinksy – Grand canyon

Kano were well ahead of their time, epic italo-disco bangers that still sound up to date, we’ve posted them before, and we’ll post them again!
Ikeya seki is an instrumental cracker, which was sampled by the french ed-banger ball’beg Kavinksy, …..he did a ‘decent’ job, but not a touch on the original. I’ve included both tracks, and you can make up your own mind.
