Feel my Bicep

Last week we posted up a video of Henrik Schwarz and Bugge Wesseltoft performing a live recreation of ‘Leave My Head Alone Brain‘. RBMA have hit us up with some more videos of the pair performing, for you to enjoy. first up is the performance at the Royal Festival Hall last Friday at the Resident Advisor & Red bull Music Academy joint event. Those that were in attendance would agree that it was a great night from the start with these guy, till the end with DJ Sprinkles ripping it up in the foyer.

Here is another showing the pair improvise a song during their couch session, using a mix of analogue equipment and Ableton- the video shows Schwarz using the amazing plugin he designed for Ableton the ‘Schwarzenator’.

Amazing jam session with Bugge and Schwarz recorded at the Red Bull Music Academy yesterday. Bugge on grand piano/ Rhodes and Henrik manning the synthesizers, using Ableton live to combine the beats. A great insight to how these guys perform live, and the future progression of live dance music.

Wesseltofts harmonic chords and strong melodies are being send to his partners workstation. On the fly sampling and effective looping leads to layers and complex textures filling up the room with simple beauty. Schwarz also adds light percussion fragments, strong rhythmic patterns. The call and response feel of their mainly improvised electronic-acoustic music and ambience soundscapes keeps the listeners tension all night long. This show is an audiovisual experience with the music being perfectly underlined by a tasteful modern live-visuals performance. Exceptional!

Red Bull  Music Academy have kindly given us 2 pairs of tickets to the special one-off night at the Royal Festival Hall, bringing a host of pioneers from the worlds of experimental electronics and avant-garde music. The mighty line up includes: Carl Craig, Francesco Tristano, Moritz von Oswald, Matmos, Bugge Wesseltoft, Henrik Schwarz, and Terre Thaemlitz as DJ Sprinkles.

This is a smoldering killer of a remix, would we expect anything less from Schwarz? It has a beautiful dark analog almost ‘new-age’ feel when Henrik really lets the track rip, the perfect opening track to a later set! I’m afraid this is a relatively new remix and we wanna respect the artists, so you’ll have to pick it up from all the usuals! Enjoy
