Feelmybicep Presents Krysko – A Modest Medley

krysko_live_at_the_warehouse_project_manchester

“Of Ukranian descent but born & bred in Yorkshire, England. Krysko was brought up on a musical diet of funk, soul, jazz and of course house music. Mainly due to his uncles influence who was a player in the early London house/techno scene. Having been dj’ing for nearly 17 years he’s developed taste in a wide spectrum of musical styles.”

We wanted to give those not fortunate enough to experience one of his sets a chance to hear some of the magic, with this recently recorded live set. During our years in Manchester we were all fortunate to catch Krysko warming up for the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Jeff Mills and Thro Parrish to name a few- helping us collectively grow our love for all things ‘HOUSE’.  As you can hear from this mix his style cant be pigeonholed, ranging from funk, deep Detroit house to sleazy dark acidic disco. Check him out at the warehouse project if you are in Manchester.

We love this mix, thanks Krysko.

New Fast Automatic Daffodils – Big (Baka)

fac51pool1

As promised back with some moe classic Hacienda vibes, this an unbelievable Jon Da Silva remix of the New Fads classic. Trippy acid house vibes with the Manchester new wave roots, this EP was the sound all in one record.

Manicured Noise – Metronome (Cousin Cole Remix)

bollards

This is where an original blueprint for Punk-Funk gets taken for a magic carpet ride through Manchester’s seminal club the Hacienda , to the 21C dancefloor of NYC where Cole and Pocketknife regularly rock the lofts of Brooklyn and beyond. Absolutely loving this remix of a track by early eighties Punk-Funkers Mancs Manicured Noise- rehauled disco style for the dancefloor by Cousin Cole of Brooklyn USA. Really messed up and unique, and progressively gets crazier! could see this being tanned across the board from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos to Tim Sweeney. The vinyl has a couple of other sweet remixes on it aswell so keep an eye open for it when its out at the end of November!

I was looking at past reviews of this record and found out this track apparently “is known for giving dancers a good aerobic workout.” mmmm a true classic, decided to stick this up after listening to a couple of horrible edits/remixes. This is a high quality remastered version, providing extra BEEF in the low end department.

Chicken Lips- Do It Proper (Justin Robertson Re-Echoed, Re-Extended And Re-rubbed)

Llllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiippppppppppppppppssssss!

This tune takes me back to Tribal Sessions at Sankeys Soap in Manchester a couple of years ago, awesome, still gives me goose-bumps listening to it now.  Sankey’s Soap was an unbelievable venue in a rundown beehive mill in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, last time i checked it was Sankeys, which isn’t so good.

Muravchix- Replicant's Lament

“It twists and turns for nearly 10 minutes, moving from mournful strings to tough beats and bass to uplifting melodic swirls and back again”

An outstanding piece of Italo from the front man of Scene-chic band Heartbreak. Released as a limited 200 press, on the outstanding Dissident Records this one is hard to find…

You might be able to find it in Piccadilly Records in Manchester or Phonica London or even here, in it’s full plastic glory.
