Ragtyme feat. Byron Stingily – I Can’t Stay Away (Ron Hardy Mix)

Amazing Chicago house records by Ragtyme produced by Marshall Jefferson… Ragtyme was actually Ten City before they became Ten City with the great vocals of Byron e. This is the other allstar dream team of house music in 1987 (Beside Larry Heard, Robert Owens and the rest of Fingers Inc). You couldn’t find a better production team then this. Marshall Jefferson, Byron Stingley & Ron Hardy doing the main mix! Comes with the Ron Hardy club mix and the Powerhouse version. Very expressive powerfull house music with intense vocals by Byron Stingley.

Marshall Jefferson – Move your body (the house music anthem)

tastevick04

One of the godfathers of chicago house bringing us the original house music anthem, all the way back in 1986!

You’ll almost certainly recognise it from the various cheesy remakes, here’s the original.

Jungle Wonz – Time Marches On

tumblr_kr1j9rnhI11qzwoooo1_500

Spent this morning recording some old vinyls and sorting through a tonne of old vinyl rips. A lot of the old Traxx ones sound pretty bad, probably because of the 2nd hand vinyl they were pressed on. Here is a heavy track from Marshall Jefferson, signature chords and piano loops. So deep it hurts. H. Dennis on the vocals on this one increases the soul factor.

“Nothing stays the same…..there’s always change……time marches on!”

DJ Pierre – I've Lost Control (WildPitch Mix)

Back in the day when acid was just a tab, DJ Pierre was holed up in his Chicago bedroom inventing a sound that would impact the music scene forever.

In 1986, the infancy of ‘acid house’ was spawned when DJ Pierre picked up a Roland 303 and created ‘Acid Trax’, released on Trax Records under his Phuture moniker: Acid. He went on to record many of the early Acid House releases on Trax Records under the names Phuture, Phuture Pfantasy Club, Pierre’s Pfantasy Club (with Felix Da Housecat) and Phortune, including the release ‘Your Only Friend’ still a key player today. DJ Pierre has also released on labels including Strictly Rhythm (where he was also A&R for a time), Jive, Emotive, Nervous, Twisted, Ovum, King Street (including his debut mix CD ‘The Afro Acid Project’) his own Afro Acid Plastik imprint, and more.

Now DJ Pierre gets Gigolo with DJ Hell. ‘I’ve Lost Control’ (an ode the Sleazy B / Marshall Jefferson Trax Records release) is already receiving support and props from DJs including Laurent Garnier, Ame, Radio Slave, Phonique, Shinedoe, D’Julz, Alex Smoke and more. The original WildPiTcHMix mix is heavy analogue designed for only the loudest speakers.. The ‘I’ve Lost Control’ Spastic Meltdown mix is reminiscent of… guess…
