Goblin – Tenebre (Serge Santiago ssuk edit)

Serge edit of the Goblin theme tune to Dario Argento’s iconic 1982 giallo horror flick – Tenebre. Apparently this has cleared dance-floors before, but the weirdo’s amongst you will love it, as do Disco bloodbath etc.

Husky Rescue – Summertime Cowboy (Serge Santiago)

For me, one of Serge Santiago brightest moments, and possibly least well know!…… (again cropping up on a fair few Ewan Pearson sets 4 or 5 years ago) this is close to a perfect tune. Beautiful pastiche analogue synths and some 909 work, complimenting the vocal perfectly.

Serge Santiago – Atto D’amore

Most people will immediately think of the polished ‘dub’ version when they hear title of this track. It was Serge’s first huge italo crossover hit back in ‘08.

However here we have the lesser well known, rawer original cut, which is much more reminiscent of the italian ‘giallo’ horror films and early Chicago house, which I guess was his initial idea.

Huge track, and since it was only released on vinyl, we’ll let you’s have it!

Shit Robot- Simple Things (Work It Out) (Serge Santiago Version)

So much hype already over this summer big DFA hit, but not much sound resonating over this remix. Im a big fan of the original and actually prefer it to the Todd Terje remix ‘Shocker’. Equally I love Serge’s interpretation as always he combines classic house sounds and modern disco, keeping a really upbeat piano groove going old school style. This tune however is broken down and takes a couple of different directions, awesome perc and spacey synths take full use of the 10 minutes!

Roxy Music- Angel Eyes(Serge Santiago & David Phillips Dub)

Quality edit of Brian Ferry’s wonderful Roxy Music form a couple of years back- really doing the original the justice it deserves. The combination of the We Love residents Serge and Phillips seem to deliver on all their edits and this is no different. Check it.

Hercules & Love Affair- Blind (Serge Santiago Unreleased Chiago edit)

A more jacking version to the one that was eventually released on DFA, both awesome remixes I could see why it was hard to choose between them. This one was on his myspace for ages so you may still recognise it.

Serge Santiago

Hackney boy producer and edit extraordinaire, we are yet to find a bad tune from this guy. Originally one half of Radioslave he now runs Arcobaleno records and holds down a residency at We Love Sundays at Space. This mix from May 30th 2006 fueled my love for the techno italo combo. Resident adivisor has a cool piece about the man in question.

Rondo Veneziano – La serenissima

We are divided as to which (of the several new versions and edits of this) tune we prefare, so we’ll let you decide for yourself, if any! Expect something a little theatrical, think of an Italian baroque orchestra and you’ll be kinda there.

MR. FIAGIO- TAKE A CHANCE

Just checked out Fact Magazine- 20 best: Italo records ever made, from Serge Santiago…pretty standard really with “take a Chance” at the No#1 slot.  In his words;

“If you want somewhere to start with Italo-Disco then start here – for me, ‘Take a Chance’ is the best Italo record of them all. It hits all the right buttons, taking you on a bizarre journey and doing so within song format, it works every time, anywhere to anyone. Pure magic!”

MR. FIAGIO- TAKE A CHANCE

Our number 1 would probably be Fockewulf 190 – Body heat (yousendit), which incidently didnt make the top top 20!
