Next up on the FMB Mixtape series is a mix from Pagan, an emerging producer and DJ from Ireland whose debut EP was picked up by Lobster Theremin’s 1Ø Pills Mate and his latest release via Cheeky Music Group. As usual, we fired some questions over to find out a bit about the mix & what he’s been up to recently…

Thanks for having me on!
The last few months have been nicely busy, between finishing my next two EP’s and playing some great gigs. At points during the various lockdowns, I honestly questioned whether a career playing music in clubs would ever be viable again, so to now be playing regularly at home (and occasionally abroad) is a great feeling.
Most of the tracks were found whilst on various busses and trains around Ireland, but the mix was recorded during a trip to Bilbao in the Basque country. I toyed with different ideas for this mix, but in the end, I went for quite an eclectic mixture of different genres – which is how I tend to play in clubs. The mix begins on a house-y tip, then quickly moves between breaks, techno, and trance – basically all the sounds that influence my productions. I’ve also included some unreleased tracks from myself that I’m looking forward to getting out there over the coming months, as well as an intro that includes some audio I found on my phone in the voice memos app. It’s from a house party where I got to see a load of mates that I hadn’t seen in ages at the time, which felt fitting after the last two years!

Next up for me gig wise is Life Festival, which I’m really excited about, and then in July I make my Bristol debut at Fields Of Fantasy Festival. On the productions front, I’ve got three different remixes on the way, and EP’s on two of my favourite labels.
