Flying Lotus’ third studio album, 2010’s Cosmogramma, will have a tough task following 2008’s sublime L.A. In the mean time though A Decade of Flying Lotus, as mixed by Gaslamp Killer, will have to do. Whether or not it’s overly self-indulgent, a gesture of goodwill (released on Christmas day) or just blatant self-promotion, it’s worth a listen.

Found a video (think its cut for a Slices dvd) where the great Luciano talks about music, but mainly his childhood and his own world…Brilliant producer, outstanding Dj and a seriously down to earth human being, which is quite unusual…apparently

Lil Louis is the stage name used by Chicago-born house music producer and DJ Louis Burns. He scored a number of hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the eighties and nineties, three of which hit #1.

“French Kiss,” featured vocals by Shawn Christopher and spent two weeks at #1 on the dance chart in 1989.
